The Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Airlines, Jenifer Bamuturaki, has won the coveted Africa Travel and Tourism 100 Award that recognizes exceptional women in the travel and tourism sector.
The awards were held on October 31st, 2022 at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria.
Bamuturaki was nominated in July 2022 alongside 99 other women in East and Southern Africa and emerged as the winner.
In her speech, Bamuturaki thanked the organizers for the recognition and dedicated the award to Africa, the youth who are passionate about the industry, and, most importantly, Ugandan women who never give up, pushing forward and striving against all odds.
“This is a win for women; this is a win for Uganda Airlines," she said.
Bamuturaki received the award in the presence of Stlison Muhwezi, the 2nd Secretary in Charge of Trade & Investment at the Uganda Embassy, Nigeria, and Barbara Namugambe, the Under Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport.
Among the notable past winners of these awards is Lilly Ajarova, the CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board.
