As Uganda Premier League sides continue to prepare for the 2022/2023 season, URA FC has released eight players from the club.

Acting CEO Allan Munaaba confirmed the development and said that among those released were players whose contracts had expired, while others were no longer in the coach’s plans.

“We had a disappointing campaign, and some of the reasons for that were the injuries suffered by our players. Other members were not delivering as we expected,” stated Munaaba.

"Therefore, we had to let go of some players and replace them with more reliable ones because we want to compete favourably next season.”

The released players are Ashraf Mandela, Mickdad Ssenyonga, Farouk Katongole, Steven Mpoza, Arafat Galiwango, Brian Nkuubi, Moses Sseruyidde, and Davis Ssali.

URA finished third last season behind champions Vipers and second-placed KCCA.
