St. Noa vs Boni Consili

The girls’ soccer semi-finals have been postponed to next Monday after St. Noa Girls and Amus College formally petitioned the organizers, citing the absence of several key players on national team duty.

In their joint concern, the affected schools noted they had released players to the national team for international duty in Ghana on the understanding that they would rejoin their school squads immediately upon return.

However, St. Noa Girls, which contributes the most players to the national team, argued that competing without five of its key members would be unfair.

The absent St. Noa players include Imelda Kasemire, Zainabu Birungi, Patricia Nayiga, Barbara Anomo, and Lillian Nakirya. Amus College also missed three players—Angella Adeke, Zabinah Nambozo, and Vicky Atyeronimungu, while Rines SS were without Yasmeen Nalukwago. Boni Consili remained the only semi-finalist without any national team absentees.

The USSSA organizing committee approved the request after concerns emerged that both St. Noa and Amus College had considered withdrawing their players from national duty during critical school competitions. The decision was made to safeguard fair competition and ensure all teams compete at full strength.
