POLICE | FORCED | MARRIAGE
KYOTERA - The Police in Kyotera district on Wednesday (August 10) evening arrested the mother and aunt of 15-year-old student who was captured on a video being pushed into a car in a suspected forced marriage.
The victim (name withheld) was rescued from the home of a 50-year-old man fit to be her grandfather, who she had been forced to get married to over the weekend.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Director Criminal Investigations Maj. Tom Magambo said the girl was a student of Kabale SS who lost her father years ago and was under the care of her uncle, who married her mother.
