Charles Kibiikyo, an elderly resident of Kiryamenvu Mawokota, in Mpigi district, had several outstanding qualities that made him a very useful member of the Church and community.

He was passionate about the Roman Catholic Church, in whose pastoral leadership he took active participation.

Kibiikyo served the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala as the head of the male marrieds (Ssabafumbo) of Muduuma Catholic parish.

He also served as the head of the laity of Mannyogaseka Catholic parish. Kibiikyo was also involved in local government leadership.

He served as the Secretary for Defence, Mudiuma sub-county. Kibiikyo also served as chairman of Bbulamazzi Local Council.

He was also involved in community LC1 Chairman of Mbazzi, Christopher Ssegawa and Nakatanza Mukasa Michael Nsereko (a leader in the Kkobe clan of the Baganda), who acknowledged with admiration his deep devotion to traditional culture.

Kibiikyo’s burial was graced by the Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus, the Most Rev. Augustine Kasujja and dozens of Catholic priests and religious women.
