Buddu head coach Ibrahim Kirya is looking forward to steering his side to a second consecutive title after securing a win against Mawokota in the first leg of the quarterfinal at Masaka recreation centre.

Bruno Bunyaga was the hero as he scored the only goal.

“I am eying the finals and will not settle for less this season," Kriya said.

Bunyaga’s second-half goal broke the hearts of the Mawokota side who had contained their opponents for large parts of the game.

Mawokota’s Joseph Kayondo was the player to beat as he posed a challenge to the Buddu defence with good crosses.

In other matches, Busiro managed to frustrate hosts Gomba with a 2-1 win. Isaac Ofoyroth and Yuda Ddumba scored for Busiro while Raymond Othieno got the consolation for Gomba.

At the Nakisunga playground, Kyaggwe lost to Ssingo 1-0 as well as Bulemeezi brightened their chances of making it to the semi-finals after beating Buwekula 1-0.
