MTN share price down 2.1% during the week
The MTN stock price declined slightly by 2.15% to sh183 per share during the week as the telecom firm paid dividends to shareholders for the six months ended June 30, 2022.
The company directors approved the payment of an interim dividend of sh5.0 per share or (sh111.9b) to shareholders on September 30, 2022.
During the week, other listed companies' stock prices closed the sessions unchanged with Umeme at sh200 per share, Bank of Baroda (BOBU) at sh85, Cipla at sh65, Stanbic at sh21 and Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) at sh15.00.

The volumes dealt in the week also dropped from 6 million shares to 2.9 million shares with six counters active in the period.
Umeme was the most traded counter with 50.60% of the week’s turnover, moving sh89m from 445,064 shares.
Stanbic dealt sh41m in turnover from 1.9 million shares, MTN traded sh26.5m from 144,697 shares and BOBU dealt sh14m from 165,269 shares.
UCL moved sh3.6m from 242,000 shares and Cipla was the least traded counter with sh1.2m from 18,900 shares.
Among the cross-listings, KCB group gained 7.12% on its share price followed by the Nation Media group gaining 2.28% and Centum Investments added 0.48%.
Jubilee Holdings led the laggards shedding 1.22%, Equity Group Holdings lost 1.13% and East African Breweries Limited closed 0.12% lower.
The USE All Share Index (ALSI) rose by 2.36%% to 1274.02.
