KAMPALA - The highly anticipated New Vision Staff Cooperative Savings and Credit Scheme Ltd exhibition dubbed 'Tutandike Business Expo' kicked off today Friday (October 4, 2024) at the Head Office in Kampala amidst great fanfare and enthusiasm.
The one-day event brought together successful Vision Group staff who have managed to start businesses out of savings they make from the salaries they earn on a monthly basis.
Other big companies like MTN Uganda, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders appeared to showcase innovative products, services, and ideas.

Vision Group Chief Executive Officer Don Wanyama officially opened the expo, emphasising the company's commitment to supporting the group's staff as a catalyst for self-employment and social transformation in their lives and families.
“Some employers feel threatened when they hear that their staff members have got side businesses to supplement their salaries. This is not the case here, and we are witnessing successful staff members who have managed to start companies for themselves," he said.
At the expo, Wanyama launched Vision Courier Services which customers can rely on to send their bulky messages and merchandise to their loved ones.
"Vision Coop has the potential to transform our communities by promoting economic empowerment, social cohesion, and collective ownership," he added.

Exhibition highlights
The expo featured exhibitors from various sectors, including, agriculture which showcased organic produce, value-added products, and innovative farming techniques.
Handicrafts were also on display with unique handmade products, such as textiles, pottery, and woodcarvings.
Technology where cutting-edge solutions, including fintech, tech, renewable energy and health and wellness were showcased, plus natural products, herbal remedies, and healthcare services.
