Magera, Amaku named December's best at UPL awards

SC Villa coach Jackson Magera has been named the best tactician ahead of KCCA FC's Morley Byekwaso and Alex Isabirye of BUL.

Magera, who guided SC Villa to three wins in four urged youngsters to work hard for success.

"The young players are expected to show interest so that they can excel at a lower age. It's not easy to be at the top. Keep delivering, you will achieve your targets,"  Magera stated.

However, Maroon's striker Fred Amaku was the best player at Pilsner monthly awards at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo.

Amaku, who scored three goals created one assist and won one man-of-match accolade in December and won it head of Busoga United's Tibita Laban and Milton Marisa of Vipers.

As part of the accolades, the winners walked away with sh1m each.

StarTimes Vice president Aldrine Nsubuga also attended the event alongside Uganda Premier League CEO Bernard Bainamani, among others.

Nsubuga also pointed out how they plan to have night games in the second round.

"In the second round, will have night games and we hope Lugogo and Kitende facilities will be ready to light up the games. This will bring more fans to watch the games," he added.
