MASINDI - President Yoweri Museveni is expected in Masindi district today (Saturday 17), to meet Bunyoro region's political and religious leaders.

He will also have a public rally at Masindi Golf Course grounds and according to the LC5 Masindi, Cosmas Byaruhanga, it will double as a belated birthday celebration for him.

The local leaders include LC5 chairpersons and Members of Parliament from Masindi, Hoima, Buliisa, Kiryandongo, Kikuube, Kagadi, Kakumiro and Kibaale. 

Others include LC3 chairpersons, the mayors and National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders.

Notable among the dignitaries present is the former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda His Grace Stanley Ntagali, Hoima Catholic diocese Bishop Rt. Rev Vincent Kirabo Amooti and his predecessor Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev Albert Edward Baharagate and his family and Masindi Kitara Diocese Rt. Rev George William Kasangaki.

Byaruhanga, who has been the head of the organising committee said a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for all chairpersons in the region will also be presented.
