KABALE | POLICE | MURDER

The police in Kabale were still Tuesday investigating a suspected murder of a man whose body was found by residents dumped in a cabbage garden.

According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesman, the police were yet to identify the body of a male adult that was found Monday dumped in a cabbage garden belonging to John Turyamureeba, a resident of Rushumo village in Birambo parish, Maziba sub-county in Kabale district.

The garden owner reported the matter to the Maziba police post and a report was made at the Central Police Station, Kabale.

According to Maate, the police recorded the incident as murder, CRB 218/2023, and sent a team that checked and searched the body, but no documents were found on him, and they asked the residents to examine his face to determine whether they knew him.

However, nobody came up to claim him, and according to the police,  two fresh cuts were discovered at the back of the head, which indicated that he could have been murdered and the body dumped in the area.

The body was later conveyed to Kabale Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem as inquiries continued.
