A Russian serviceman on trial for committing war crimes in Ukraine as part of the first trial of its kind since Moscow launched its invasion pleaded guilty to the charges on Wednesday. Asked in court via an interpreter if he was guilty of the charges, which include war crimes and premeditated murder, 21-year-old serviceman Vadim Shishimarin responded "yes", and also confirmed that he understood what he is accused of.
