Pilots have mourned John Ndinyenka, describing him as “an intelligent pilot” and “aviation icon” who trained many pilots in the East African region.

Ndinyenka, who was 76 years, died on Tuesday of Diabetes and Kidney failure.

“We honour his legacy and mourn his loss alongside his family, friends, and the entire aviation community. Keep soaring with the angels' Eng. John Ndinyenka,” the president of the Aeronautics Association Uganda Limited, Capt. Aziz Sentamu said.

“He is a legend in Soroti Flying School. He has taught every pilot in East Africa, and he was a very intelligent guy. He joined Soroti Flying School in 1951,” he added.

Sentamu said burial arrangements would be communicated on Wednesday.
