The Assistant Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Kampala, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Hannington Mutebi, has attributed the rampant cases of divorce to the failure of the spouses to assimilate the companionship of Jesus.

Delivering his homily during the wedding service of Francis Dunstan and Doreen Elizabeth Nkuse at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe, Mutebi asked Christians to allow Jesus into their home and let him take control of their marriage.

“Satan is not happy when he sees good things happening to God’s people. That is why he always works to destroy the marriage institution. Christian spouses have to seek the companionship of Jesus and walk with him along the journey of their marriage. They will subsequently get His blessings, guidance and protection,” Mutebi said.

In his latter remarks, Mutebi commended Francis Dunstan Nkuse for taking the courageous commitment to marriage. He asked other young Christians to emulate the Nkuses.

Francis Dunstan Nkuse is the son of the late Francis Drake Kizito of Gayaaza, who was a highly influential Anglican Christian and member of the Father's Union.
