Archbishop Lambert Beinomugisha’s mother dead

Unconfirmed reports coming from the Nyamitanga indicate that Kaahwa died of diabetes and pressure.

Matilda Kaahwa Mugyenyi, the mother of Mbarara Archbishop Lambert Beinomugisha, died on Tuesday (January 25) while admitted to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

According to the death announcement signed by Rev. Fr. Severino Ndugwa, the Vicar General of Mbarara Archdiocese, Kaahwa died Tuesday evening.

Unconfirmed reports coming from the Nyamitanga indicate that Kaahwa died of diabetes and pressure.

According to the announcement, there will be a requiem mass today (Wednesday) at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, Nyamitanga at 2pm.

After the requiem mass, the body will be transported to Omukatojo village Kashumba in Bukanga county, Isingiro district (ancestral home). 

 The funeral mass will be on Thursday, January 27, at Buhungiro Parish at 11am and burial will follow.

It is reported that before His Grace Beinomugisha was appointed in April 2020 by Pope Francis to replace Emeritus Paul K. Bakyenga, a few months to his appointment, he lost his father, the late Joseph Mugyenyi.
