The Ministry of Health with the support from Global Fund has procured four waste management trucks to support the growing demand for waste disposal. 

The trucks will be distributed to Gulu, Lira, Mbarara and Kampala Capital City Authority. 

Speaking while flagging off the trucks, health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng said the trucks will be distributed equitably in places where they will create impact. 

“The waste management trucks will be deployed to support regions including Northern, Western, Lango and Western regions,’’ she said 

Aceng commended the finance ministry, local fund agents, Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) secretariat, and development partners, among others.
