Nebbi Anglican Diocese new bishop consecrated

President Museveni donated a brand-new car to the new bishop of Nebbi Diocese to ease his ministry.

The installation of Bishop Ozelle (Pictured) at St.Stephen’s cathedral -Goli in Nebbi diocese follows the passing on of Rt. Rev Alphonse Wathokudi, who succumbed to COVID-19 in January last year.

NEBBI - Newly elected Bishop of Nebbi Anglican diocese Pons Awinjo Ozelle has been consecrated and enthroned as the third bishop today (Sunday, January 16, 2021).

The installation of Bishop Ozelle at St.Stephen’s cathedral -Goli in Nebbi diocese follows the passing on of Rt. Rev Alphonse Wathokudi, who succumbed to COVID-19 in January last year.

Presiding over the consecration, Church of Uganda Archbishop His Grace Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, said new leaders should strive to build on the achievements of their predecessors other than destroying them.

He called for responsible parenting for both the girl and boy child, adding a peaceful family breeds a peaceful nation.

President Yoweri Museveni in a speech read for him by Vice President Rt Major Jessica Alupo commended the church of Uganda and other religious denominations for promoting positive and stronger partnership with the government for mutual and sustainable development and spiritual growth.

The President donated a brand-new car to the new bishop of Nebbi Diocese to ease his ministry.
