The Ministry of Health has confirmed 297 new Covid-19 cases in Uganda.
This is according to the results of COVID-19 tests done on December 17, 2021.
The cumulative confirmed cases are 129,061.
The breakdown of the new cases shows 290 alerts and contacts.
In Kampala 156, Wakiso 99, Luweero 6, Jinja 6, Arua 3, Masaka 2 and Mbarara 1.
Kabarole 1, Bulambuli 1, Nakasongola 1, Koboko 1, Kabale 1, Adjumani 1,Kyotera 6, Amuru 3, Tororo 1 and Mbale 1. 7 Truck drivers; Kyotera 6 and Tororo 1.
The ministry also registered one Covid-19 related death, bringing the number of people that have died of Covid-19 in Uganda, to 3,273.
A total of 7.8 million people in Uganda have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
