FDC disowns NUP's Mbaju, suspends member over indiscipline

Forum for Democratic Change ( FDC) has disowned National Unity Platform's (NUP) new recruit Jackson Mbaju as a member of the FDC.
In a statement dated December 02, 2021, to the Kasese district FDC chairperson, FDC noted that the former Busongora South MP ceased to be a member of the party last year when he decided to run as an independent, which is against the party constitution.
"Therefore, the public is hereby informed that Jackson Mbaju, can't claim to have left FDC now when he ceased to be a member last year," FDC said.
Mbaju joined NUP last week. He was a staunch member of FDC but decided to run as an independent after he was defeated in the FDC primaries.
The FDC also indicated Godfrey Bwerere and James Mbathulhawu had ceased to be members of the FDC in October 2020 when they contested as independents against Article 12 of the party's constitution.
Besides, the three former members, the FDC has also suspended another member over indiscipline.
It stated that "It has come to our notice that our former Parliamentary candidate for Kasese district Sanyu Ntabose Gedion since general elections, he has continued to engage in activities that are hostile to the party".
According to FDC, this is against the party constitution under Article 12.
" Ntabose is hereby suspended from the party pending further action," FDC said
