Cabinet approves national transport and logistics policy

Cabinet has approved the national transport and logistics policy 2021 that seeks to put in place, a well-developed multi-modal transport connectivity system for Uganda’s development. 

ICT minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi said the policy will also increase the competitiveness of Uganda in the national, regional and international markets and create an efficient and competitive transport and logistics regional hub, among others. 

He was speaking to journalists at the Uganda Media Centre on Wednesday. 

The national transport and logistics policy 2021 was among resolutions passed by the Cabinet in its seating at State House Entebbe on Monday, November 29.

 Other resolutions passed included the international Anti-corruption Day which will be commemorated on Thursday next week under the theme, “promoting active participation in social accountability. 

“The day is intended to increase citizens’ awareness about their responsibilities and empower them in their right of access to public information on Government’s efforts in fighting corruption,” Baryomunsi said.
