The king of Tooro Kingdom Oyo Kabamba Iguru has rallied Ugandan youth to test for HIV/AIDs in order to know their status.

"I urge the youth and all people to test and know their status as well as practicing prevention measures," King Oyo said in a Twitter post.

King Oyo also pledged to continue the campaign against HIV with focus on ending mother-to-child transmission and fighting stigma against those living positively.

Today, Uganda joins the rest of the world to celebrate World Aids Day.

A total of 1.4 million Ugandans are living with HIV.
