On the night of February 3, 2016, at around 10: 30pm, Regina Mukasa of Nkoowe village in Wakiso district, while walking around her house, heard a child crying on the verandah.

When Mukasa went closer to check, she found a baby girl wrapped in a bedsheet with blood, abandoned by an unknown person. The child was about one-day-old.

She alerted the neighbours who reported the incident to the local authorities, then announcements were made around Nkoowe zone and its neigbourhood villages but nobody appeared to claim the child.

Mukasa took the child to Wakiso Police Station for further management. After the child was given medical treatment at Wakiso Health Centre IV, the Wakiso district probation office handed her to Mercy Child Care Ministry at Bukasa, Mende sub-county in Wakiso district.

The baby girl was named Aaliyah Kisakye. Kisakye is aged 5 years. To enable her link with the family, contact 0773065939.
