Wives of Police officers in one of the barracks in Nakawa West have decried the constant power cut-offs which affect their small businesses.

According to Joel Ssenyonyi, the area MP, their power has been reportedly cut-off even when they pay their electricity bills.

"They shared distressing stories; their power is switched off daily during the day, yet money is cut-off their husbands' monthly salaries for electricity, water is always off," Ssenyonyi tweeted on his handle.

Ssenyonyi who had over the weekend visited the women to support their economic ventures, also noted how the women revealed to him the poor sanitation condition in which they live.

He said, "One toilet serves about 30 families, and other toilets got full, yet they aren't emptied. Their dilapidated houses have more than one family separated by curtains."
