Rev. Godfrey Loum has been consecrated as the eighth Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda.

The enthronement of Bishop Loum was conducted by Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu on Sunday morning at St Philips Cathedral in Gulu City.

Loum replaces Bishop Johnson Gakumba, who has been overseeing the Diocese of Northern Uganda since 2009. 

Gakumba relinquished his position, having decided to seek early retirement. 

Retired Archbishop Luke Orombi prayed for the new bishop to run and complete his race. 

Loum pledged to guide his sheep.
