JINJA - Jinja High Court presided over by Justice Susan Abinyo on Friday threw out Bunya South Member of Parliament, Iddi Isabirye.

Bunya South is one of the constituencies located in Mayuge district.

The ruling followed a petition which was filed by Robert Ntende, the former area Member of Parliament, seeking to overturn the victory of Isabirye.

In his affidavits, the petitioner based his evidence on election malpractices that include voter bribery, use of state machinery, among other things, during the February-2021 general elections.

Justice Abinyo based her ruling on the evidence which Ntende adduced to her Court regarding the voter bribery that was witnessed in Malongo Sub-County and the use of state machinery like government vehicles during the campaign period.

However, Isabirye said, he will sit with his lawyers to see if they can make an appeal or not.

Meanwhile, the jubilant Ntende Robert hailed court for the justice exhibited in the case he filed against Isabirye.
