Police in Kabale has arrested five more people over the murder of three people who had allegedly stolen a pig. 

The suspects include; Divera Twemere, Night Immaculate, Julius Gahungu, one Javira and another Levi, all from Kyigata parish in Western Uganda. 

The group is part of eight others who were initially arrested for the heinous crime and are currently held at Ndorwa Prison, according to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson. 

It is alleged that on  September 19, the above suspects killed three people only identified as, Akampurira, Akampereza and Niwagaba over the alleged theft of a pig. 

“The suspects killed the trio on mere allegations that they had stolen a pig which was later found the next day at the home of the complainant,” Maate said. 

The suspects were arrested on Sunday at Ruboroga cell Kyigata parish in Kabale. 

Maate said upon completion of inquiries, all suspects will be produced before the courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
