Orthodox Christians are in an expectant mood as they await the body of their deceased Archbishop, His Eminence Jonah Lwanga, which will arrive at Entebbe International Airport on Saturday, at about 3:30am.

Intense preparatory activities are underway at St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, Namungoona, where the Prelate will be buried on Monday (September 20).

The giant tent provided by the government of Uganda has already been built. Several other tents are also being put up by the workmen.

Bearded monks, hooded nuns are busy, moving up and down, to ensure everything is in order. The tomb, where the Prelate will be laid to rest, is almost done.

Security is very tight but friendly. Just wear your mask, wash your hands, do everything that the security officers tell you to do and you will not have any problem.

The spectacle/atmosphere at the Cathedral is generally mournful. Groups of grim-faced Christians can be seen all over the Cathedral premises.

The sorrowful atmosphere is made even more intense by the solemn Orthodox chants that are being played from the Cathedral.

According to the organizers, the body of Metropolitan Lwanga will be delivered at the Cathedral on Saturday, at 9:00am.
