GULU - For months, so many artists have been flocking northern Uganda specifically Gulu to meet Gen. Saleh overcompensation funds and bailouts.

Most of these were secular musicians and promoters who claim to have made losses in form of events that had been planned but never happened due to COVID-19 and the lockdown.

After so many cries by gospel artists’ President Denis Lanek to meet the general over gospel artists’ issues, the artists finally went to Gulu and met Saleh.

His meeting was to discuss issues concerning gospel artists who also had events but were affected by lockdown and COVID-19.

Lanek was also awarded a certificate of attendance in Gulu by chief co-ordinator Operation Wealth Creation Gen Salim Saleh.

In attendance was also Uganda’s Prime Minister Robinah Nabanjja and the director Operation Wealth Creation Sylvia Owori.

Lanek claims to be the leader of hundreds of gospel artists in Uganda and has always been seen making so many protests on social media and televisions fighting for gospel artists.

After receiving the certificate, Lanek said, “I thank God that our cry was heard, and Uganda gospel music is now being fully being recognised by the Government.”

He later urged all gospel artists and whoever has a song to look for him.
