New COVID-19  infections in Uganda dropped to 375 from 405 on Sunday as the country continues to battle the pandemic.

At the same time, recoveries climbed to 1,372, an update released by the Ministry of Health on Sunday said. COVID-19 tests conducted in Uganda rose from 1,445, 413 to 1,449,129, while doses of vaccines so far administered in the country stood at 1,110,867.

Cumulative confirmed cases stood at 92,490 and fatalities rose to 2,557, out of which 31 are reported to have happened in a 24-hour period. Cases on admission in the several health facilities across the country stayed at 754, but the positivity rate rose from 8.2 to 10.1 percent, rising by 2.1 points.

According to the ministry, the breakdown of new infections was: Kampala, 144 cases; Kagadi, 16; Nakasongola, 14; Nabitaluk, 12; Mbale, 12; Mukono, 10; Tororo, 9; Kyotera, 9; Sembabule, 8; Obongi, 7; Kasese, 7; Kibuku, 6; Sironko, 5; Bukomansimbi, 5; Kalungu, 5; Butambala, 5; Rakai, 5.

Others included, Wakiso, 13; Buyende, 5; Mbarara, 7; Gulu, 4; Busia, 4; Kapchorwa, 4; Oyam, 4;Bududa, 4; Hoima, 3; Nakaseke, 3; Nakapiripirit, 3; Kotido,3; Adjumani, 3; Yumbe, 2; Buikwe, 2; Terego, 2; Mpigi, 2; Arua, 2; Mubende, 2;Luwero, 3; Isingiro, 2; Masaka, 2; Namayingo, 2; and Napak, 2.

Kanungu, Soroti, Iganga, Kiboga, Pallisa, Lwengo, Kabale, Kalaki and Kyegegwa had one case each.

According to Ministry, there were three truck drivers who tested positive. Two of those were from Mutukula while one was from Kampala.
