STATE HOUSE | KEMINAGANO | DEATH

KAMPALA - President Yoweri Museveni has lost his paternal aunt, Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano, 97.

According to the president, Keminagano died last night (Saturday) at 8:00pm at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala from 'conditions related to old age'.

The president said his aunt had for long time been indisposed and relegated to a wheelchair.

“She will be buried at Rwakitura, tomorrow,” the head of state said in a tweet on Sunday.

The president, however, hastened to add that due to COVID-19, only very few people have been requested to conduct the burial.

“The relatives, acquaintances, and friends, are requested not to try and congregate at the burial because it is dangerous and has no value addition,” he said.

The president said a video recording of the burial will be done and shared with all concerned.

“We praise the Lord Almighty for her long life. May her soul rest in eternal peace. This is to inform all relatives, friends, acquaintances, and the NRM fraternity,” he said in a tweet.
