KAMPALA - Daily Covid-19 infections in Uganda dropped on Tuesday, falling from 479 to 438. 

This brought the total cumulative Covid-19 infections to 88,194 in the country, an update from the ministry of health, said.

The report also indicates that recoveries from the virus now stand at 62,213; 909 of which were recorded in a 24-hour period.

However, the update shows that deaths attributed to virus in a 24-hour increased from 25 to 35, which is a significant increase considering that the total 24-hour fatality count as of Sunday was only 14! 

In addition, the positivity rate also increased slightly from 9.3 percent to 11.3 percent.

Hospital admissions were 987 while the total number of people that have so far been vaccinated in Uganda is now 1,076,923.

According to the breakdown of the new cases Kampala recorded 104 cases; Pader, 33; Buikwe, 25; Kakumiro, 23; Kiryandongo, 17; Hoima, 16; Buliisa, 14; Buvuma, 12; Masindi, 11; Wakiso, 16; Kagadi, 11; Pallisa, 10; Nakasongola, 9; Tororo, 8; Kyankwanzi, 7; Arua, 6; and Gomba, 5.

Kiboga, 5; Kakindo, 3; Kiryandongo, 3; Luwero, 3; Bulambuli, 5; Kasese, 2; Jinja, 2; Soroti, 2; Masaka, 1; Kapchorwa, 1; Mukono, 1; Amuru, 1; and Nakaseke, 1.
