A bus accident along Mbarara-Kabale road has left one person dead and five others injured.

The accident that occurred near Katatumba in Mbarara district involved a Savanna company bus, registration number UAK 948 A that was from Kampala heading to Kihihi.

The deceased bus driver, Cosma Rwabusharara,  is reported to have lost control and veered off the road as a result of trying to dodge several potholes.

Those injured were rushed to Mbarara region referral hospital.

Patrick Mungasa, the Rwizi region traffic officer blamed the accident on the bad state of the road.

The accident comes hot on the heels of one that occurred on Monday along the Kampala-Gulu highway at Nakasongola, claiming seven lives and injuring several others.
