Ugandans in Netherlands form association

Ugandan community living in Netherlands has formed an assocaition and elected leaders. The election was held at Ganzenhoef in Amsterdam.

The objective of the association is unity among Ugandans , mobilisation of support for those in need among others.
The new community president, Ibrahim Ndaula, told the New Vision that his leadership will advocate for opening  up linkages with the Dutch Government.

“I will engage our Government here to integrate Ugandans in terms of employment and education,” Ndaula said.

He also wants to engage the Ugandan Government to create avenues for Ugandans in the Diaspora to participate in 2016 general elections.

Others elected are Joel Wakayima, the general secretary, Edwin Sam Kibirige, finance secretary, Stephen Amazia, public relation officer and Jude Kasangaki, the mobilization secretary, among others.  
All the elected leaders will serve for three years.

The new community executive will be sworn in on August 15 by the Ugandan Ambassador to the Netherlands Mariam Blaak
