Heat 4

1. William Layoyi (Bahamas) 46.07
2 Barnade Daundre (Canada) 46.16
3 Emmanuel Tugumisirize (Uganda) 46.73

American based Emmanuel Tugumisirize has advanced to the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games 400m race at Hampden Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland

Tugumisirize was the only Ugandan to reach the final 16, after Ali Ngaimoko failed to run in the race. Ngaimoko is expected to run in the 200m race today.

“I reacted late but will give it all I can tomorrow,” Tugumisirize said after the race.

He finished third, which earned him direct qualification to the semi-finals. The top four in the semi-finals will directly advance to the finals.
