Veteran sportsman Jimmy Bakyayita  Semugabi has died, reportedly after suffering heart failure.

The ex-Uganda Cranes star and soccer administrator breathed his last on Friday.

FUFA President Moses Magogo says it is a "trying moment" for the local football family following Semugabi's death.

He wrote on the federation's website: “It is sad to lose a football administrator and former Cranes star who served his country wholeheartedly. These are trying moments for the football fraternity following the death of Mr. Semugabi. The federation extends its sympathies to his family, friends and football fraternity."
