KAMPALA - The most anticipated teens’ fete, the Buzz Teeniez Awards took place last Saturday at the Lugogo based Kati-Kati grounds, in Kampala.

Vision Group, budding star Irene Ntale as well as the Goodlife duo, Mowzey Radio and Weasel plus Pallaso dominated the award winners’ list.

This 8th edition of the annual teens’ event attracted a multitude of teenagers; most of them holiday makers that had come to witness the fruits of their votes, not to mention watching their favourite celebrities perform live on stage.

Despite the heavy downpour that threatened to mar the awarding ceremony, it kicked off at just a few minutes to noon with great music mixes filling the air to help obliterate the cold mood at the time. The teens uncontrollably wiggled their bodies, something that seemed to imply that perhaps they had not had such much fun in a long time.

By 1:00pm, the youthful revellers were already smitten enough thanks to a well done job by DJ Mark as well as a thunderous performance from 100Acres rapper, Santana. A few minutes later, the key activity of the day was set rolling with the first award, the Nisisi Award going to Santana.

Shortly after, RnB singer Ray Signature took to stage amidst wild screams from the revellers. There were more performances from Viboyo, Khalifa Aga-Naga, Irene Ntale, Reef HD, amongst other artistes including Eddy Kenzo whose latest hit single, Sitya Loss sent the crowd wild.

The event was brought to a halt at around 6:30pm with the teens counting it a well spent evening though the happiness was short-lived as some delinquent teenagers started grabbing phones and other valuables from their fellows just a few strides from the venue.
