President Yoweri Museveni has promised regular interaction with Ugandans on the globally popular messaging site Twitter.

"I thank you for welcoming me to Twitter. I will interact with you, and take questions, every two weeks," Museveni said in his second tweet just after 2.00am. Museveni flew to Dar es Salaam yesterday to attend Tanzania's Golden Jubilee.

Museveni set Twitter ablaze on Thursday with his first message.

Frive days after taking his first #selfie, the Ugandan president sent out his first tweet. His handle, one of the first ones to be verified in Uganda, is @KagutaMuseveni

Soon after, Uganda Government spokesman Ofwono Opondo tweeted, " Welcome to the twitter World Mr President, never too late to learn."
