BREAKING NEWS: A head on collision between a truck carrying cooking oil and a passenger van on Entebbe highway Saturday evening is said to have left two people dead.

Our reporter Kigongo Sebalamu confirms two people have been burnt beyond recognition. The taxi also burnt.

The accident was at Namulanda, blocking traffic on the usually busy road. Cars were diverted to a murram road from Namulanda to Kajjansi.

Reporter Raymond Mujuni says the Entebbe road has been sealed off at Kisubi, and police officers are calling breakdown service to remove the wreckage.

Mujuni added on his twitter handle @qataharraymond that " Only two confirmed dead ,16 casualties rushed to Kisubi hospital."

He indicated it was not confirmed that the accident did involve an army truck as earlier reported. He said: "Collision was between a truck carrying cooking oil & passenger van, plates not yet been identified."
