The education ministry will today release the 2013 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.

Education minister Jessica Alupo confirmed the results would be released at Statistics House in Kampala.

A total of 295,494 candidates sat for the exams last year, marking a notable increase by 26,712 from 268,782 candidates in 2012. The marking of the exams was completed mid-December last year.

UNEB has suffered a series of setbacks this year.

Just a few weeks after the release of 2013 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results, UNEB was accused of delaying the examiners’ payment.

The board denied the accusations, saying all payments had been effected, save for a few examiners whose bank account details had errors.
