KIRA Young beat Proline at Lugogo to move within touching distance of the FUFA Super League lead.

With goals from Samuel Kayongo and Patrick Kaddu, Kira surged from fourth to second position. They have 31 points from 17 matches.

Vipers top the 16-team table with a point more. The second goal came off a penalty after Daniel Asiimwe was red-carded for rough play on Kaddu. Cranes player Richard Kasagga was one of the day’s stars with a commanding role in Kira’s defence.

At Wankulukuku, goalkeeper Kasole Ssonko failed to stop a cross giving a chance to a charging Umar Kasumba to give the visitors the lead.

But with five minutes left Police defender Sadat Kyambadde handled in the box. Willy Kavuma netted the resultant penalty.
