THE Mufti of Uganda His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has been commended by the listeners of 94.1 Bilal FM for his leading role in the establishment and modernization of radio Bilal as well as many other initiatives that have put UMSC on the map.
This was during a special event held on Saturday February 8th in the National Mosque Conference Hall at Old Kampala during which the Mufti met Radio Bilal listeners who gave him lots of gifts.
During the event, the Mufti had an interactive session with the listeners after delivering his speech in which he highlighted the achievements of UMSC in the 14 years he has been in charge as Mufti of Uganda.
In addition to the establishment of radio stations and several development programs, the Mufti informed his audience that UMSC was able to acquire the Land Title at Old Kampala Hill on which UMSC Headquarters and Radio Bilal are situated.

He noted that no serious development would have taken place on the Hill without the guarantee of Muslim ownership of the land.
While displaying the Land Title, the Mufti assured his audience that the document was safe and dismissed rumors that it is not in UMSC hands.
The Mufti thanked Radio Bilal listeners for loving him and for loving Radio Bilal noting that they should do the same to other people in order to grantee unity in diversity.
He urged them to be proud of Radio Bilal and to support it and promote it as much as they could because of the wonderful job it is doing in propagating Islam and promoting unity, development and dialogue.
“Plans are underway to establish sister radios in all regions in Uganda or set up boosters so that radio Bilal can reach all corners of Uganda and beyond” said the Mufti.

The Director of Radio Bilal Haji Rajab Bukenya said Radio Bilal now has one of the best signals in Kampala and urged the public and business owners to take advantage of this by announcing and advertising on it.
He said the radio is now on the internet and soon its programs will be heard all over the world.
The listeners comprised of both Muslims and non-Muslims and in their join statement, they assured the Mufti of their continued support of his efforts for unity and development.
Among the UMSC officials present were the Ag. Deputy Mufti Shk. Khatwib Mukuluwakika, the UMSC Sec. Gen. Eng. Shk. Siraj Zaid Kavuma, the UMSC Spokesperson Haji Nsereko Mutumba, the Head of Ceremonies at UMSC Shk. Anas Sessimba, the UMSC Secretary for Finance and Planning Mr. Shaban Magala and the UMSC Sec. for Education and Social Services Mr. Ramadhan Mugalu among others.
