The Electoral Commission (EC) is to compile a new voters’ register for the 2016 polls.


EC Secretary, Sam Rwakoojo, made the revealed on Friday during a media breakfast meeting in Kampala.

Rwakoojo explained that the existing register will be discarded so the Commission can make a “fresh start” to avoid confusion.

The new register will be compiled from data collected through the registration for the National Identity cards to start this month.
