THE tennis doubles tournament organised by the Uganda Tennis Association (UTA) rolls off today at the Lugogo Tennis Complex.

UTA official in charge of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Patrick Ezaga told New Vision yesterday that the event will help identify more talent for the sport.

“The event will also help improve the fitness levels of the players. We also expect the players to develop their skills,” Ezaga stated.

Ezaga also noted that players will use the two-day event that ends tomorrow, to prepare for other tournaments in the near future.

Although it’s a doubles event, there are a few games lined-up in the singles category. It will be the second event on the UTA calendar after the grass root programme that ended last week.

The winners will walk away with prize money which was not disclosed by press time.
