Uganda v UAE (Mount Maunganui)

UGANDA’S first official warm-up match at last year’s ICC T20 World Qualifier was against the UAE.

Needless to add, it ended in a humbling eight wicket reverse for Davis Karashani’s men.

Fast forward to the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier that bowls off in New Zealand on Monday and, again, another official warm-up against the UAE.

Uganda needs all the positives it can muster ahead of the start of the tournament proper and as such today’s clash with the UAE is more than just a mere warm-up match.

A victory against one of the tournament favourites would do a great deal for Uganda’s confidence.

Karashani’s team suffered a demoralising loss to Whakatane XI on Tuesday.
