Government entities behind the implementation of the national security Information System that is fast- tracking the national identity card project have today signed a memorandum of understanding at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Gen. Aronda Nyakairima said that the signing of the agreement brings together various entities in government and that the treaty would ensure that these entities work together in the implementation of the national ID project, that is expected to commence on February 10.

The M.O.U was signed by representatives from the Electoral Commission, Ministry of internal Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Uganda Registration Services Bureau, Ministry of Local Government, Uganda Immigration Board and Uganda Information Technology Authority.
