Nile Special Rugby League
Heathens v Mongers (Kyadondo)
Kobs v Mutoni (Kampala Club)
Lira Bulls v Buffaloes (Lira)
Rhinos v Pirates (Kampala Club)
HEATHENS’ rock-hard man Scot Oluoch will certainly look odd in a rival Kobs blue jersey but that is what it is.
Oluoch who has always troubled Kobs in those mouth-watering encounters will play for Kobs this season which kicks off with the league this Saturday.
Heathens coach Brian Tabaruka confirmed to New Vision yesterday that Oluoch who plays as a flanker, lock and 8th man was on his way to Kobs.
“The deal is pretty much done. We are just left with completing paper work and his new clubs will then register him with Uganda Rugby Union. Kobs offered him an incentive and we have had to release him for a nominal fee,” Tabaruka stated.
Oluoch had only served one year on his three-year contract with Heathens. Kobs bought out the contract.
Oluoch who crossed to Pirates in 2010 and returned to Heathens after one season will most likely show up for Kobs’ opening game against Mongers.
Kobs coach Fred Mudoola who recently lost Ibra Nyango to Heathens will certainly be delighted with the arrival of Oluoch.
The international player who missed the Sevens circuit and Super Cup due to a knee injury he sustained in the Uganda Cup is said to have recovered.
Heathens won the league, Uganda Cup and Sevens title, leaving Kobs empty-handed last season.
