AS riders prepare to battle for the tightly contested national championship in all categories, the organisers Speedway Motorsport Club (SMOC) have brought back the freestyle wizard Nick De Wit to thrill fans during the 7th round of the Mountain Dew National motocross championship on Sunday in Busiika.
SMOC chairman Brian Tumusiime revealed this during a press briefing during the launch of the event held the Club’s office Lubaga on Tuesday.
“We are bringing Africa’s top free style rider Nick De Wit to excite fans like he did the other time he was here and he arrives in the country on Friday,” Tumusiime confirmed the development.
“We all know that this event is going to be competitive because top riders in all categories are chasing for the national title but we wanted to give our fans more for their money by honouring their demand,” Tumusiime added.
He added that the event will also be used to select the national team for the third and final round of the East and central (FIM- CAC) motocross challenge in Nairobi next month.
Arthur Blick Jnr who retired from active motocross will use Sunday’s event as training in preparation for the regional meet in Kenya. Uganda is the defending champions of the FIM-CAC event.
Total, Rwenzori Water, UAP HealthCare, UAP insurance, Fotogenix and Safe Solutions are the sponsors.
