Tusker Profect Fame starts off today in its sixth edition in Nairobi with Uganda fielding five contestants.
The contestants, Daisy Ejang, Sitenda Kisakye, Derrick Kojjo and a duo dubbed “Undercover Brothers” comprising Timothy Kirya and Kakiika Abdul join contestants from the other four countries in a bid to win sh150,000,000 and a one-year recording contract in South Africa.
In this edition, certain changes like new faces in the faculty and the judging panel will be featured and the edition will take another approach of fielding singing groups of up to three members with each being allowed to compete alongside individuals.
The voting system also changed to block voting with each participating country getting a vote each to determine the winner.
In Kampala, the opening gala will be shown today (Sunday) at Club Silk with evictions starting off before contestants enter the Academy, as there are only 18 available places. Seven will be evicted and the rest will enter the academy.
Uganda has registered two winners in Esther Nabaasa and David Ntare since the inception of the contest in 2007.
