Eight people escaped with injuries when a bus they were traveling in overturned near Arapai sub-county headquarters in Soroti district Friday morning.
The injured passengers aboard the ill-fated vehicle were moments later rushed to Soroti regional referral hospital.

The Nissan bus, belonging to Gateway Bus Services was coming from Kotido destined to Kampala.
The regional traffic officer of Kyoga East, Quinto Angeira said the driver lost control when he failed to negotiate a bend.
One of the survivors, Patrick Okwii said he noticed they were being driven at a very high speed moments before the bus tipped over.

“I had slept off on the bus but all of a sudden, I woke up to some passengers on top of me, only to realize the bus had overturned” another traveler, Betty Awilo explained.
Some of the people rushed to the hospital were identified by traffic officer Alex Kobusheshe as: Alex Kobusheshe, Timoth Chepkuri, Levy Tukwepwa, Annah Diko.
Others are: Socklet Okech, Lawrence Elasu,Euku Ibula, and Juliet Tankubefyaku.
