President Yoweri Museveni has paid glowing tribute to the late Hon. Joy Arinaitwe Kariisa for her devotion and love for Uganda, the Movement and her constituency of Buhweju district.
Musevni was speaking at the burial of Buhweju district Woman MP late, Joy Arinaitwe Kariisa at her marital home in Kashenyi village, Rwengwe sub-county in Buhweju district.
The late Hon. Arinaitwe Kariisa succumbed to brain tumour early this month at the age of 27 years old. She passed on at Nakasero Hospital despite many attempts to medically save her both in Uganda and in India where was frequently flown for treatment.
Museveni told mourners, who braved a sudden heavy down pour, that the late Joy Arinaitwe Kariisa was a young well-behaved legislator who was always calm, polite who had lived a purposeful life.
Other mourners included the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, who called for fast tracking of medical insurance policy.
The NRM Chief Whip, Hon. Lumumba described the late Joy Kariisa as a person who was approachable that easily related with all members of Parliament irrespective of their political party affiliations.
Family members in their eulogies described their daughter as a true mother who loved everyone.
